About Us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Right on pace with Target's distinctive retail brand, Target Store Operations is continuing to transform the way it operates. Here, your work directly supports the mission to deliver an easy, inspiring, and safe experience to our guests and team through successfully developing and communicating the processes for operations, style and experience, new structures, new operating models and new technology, and utilizing workforce management activities for our 1,800 locations nationwide. Store Operations manages and enhances the informational resources for researching and resolving operational issues, while guiding and communicating with the field team and leaders who use them. Are you a customer service enthusiast who can actively listen to many points of view and then visualize how they'll perform when operationalized in a store? Are you happy to partner with leaders as well as field team members who are often the experts on how well a process is working? Can you creatively envision more efficient processes and how they'll deliver a better experience for guests and team members? Do you possess the innovative mindset to question the status quo, and the confidence to work under varying degrees of ambiguity and well-informed experimentation? Then you'll have success on one of our dynamic teams. A role with Experiential Operations means a big opportunity to continuously elevate guests' in-store experience to new levels of awesome. Whether it is Merchandising, Service, Technology, or Events, this team focuses on the strategies and processes that ensure a guest experience far above anything the competition can offer by nurturing Target brand love and loyalty at the store level.

As a Director, Store Operations - Experiential Operations, you will use your talents and experiences to develop and drive a cohesive vision for store experiences in your business, in close partnership with key teams across Stores, Merchandising/Capabilities, Store Design, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Assets Protection. You will lead a team that is responsible for creating and delivering a guest experience that meets and exceeds our guest's expectations.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Creating and delivering cohesive guest experience strategies with enterprise partners, including Stores, Merchandising, GSCL, Marketing, and Digital
  • Influencing, driving, prioritizing, and implementing communication, training, and tools to ensure long-term sales growth is maximized through great guest experiences in stores with critical initiatives such as Transitions, LTOs, Brand Launches, Events, Key Seasons, Promotions, Innovations, etc
  • Influencing internal stakeholders across the enterprise through data and insights that reflect the experiences of our stores, team members, and guests
  • Team serves as primary connector between Stores leadership (primarily GVPs/SVPs) and Merchandising/Inventory Management/Digital to bring guest experience, strategy, and operational insights to life for partners
  • Team creates sustainable best practices for bringing Merchandising initiatives to life (process, policies, talent, training, performance management)
  • Job duties may change at any time due to business needs

About You:
  • Four year college degree or equivalent experiences
  • 6+ years of leadership experience with proven ability to develop and lead diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience (familiarity with Stores and/or Merchandising strongly preferred)
  • Leads with an enterprise mindset to create amazing experiences and solutions for our guests and deliver Target's financial and operational goals
  • Demonstrated experience with building a diverse, high-performing team that is engaged on delivering Target's purpose
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies and driving organizational change through empowering others and developing sustainable routines
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including ability to negotiate, manage differing points of view, understand key stakeholder needs at all levels, and influencing senior level leadership
  • Comfortable in an ambiguous and rapidly-changing work environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships across the enterprise
  • Experience prioritizing and able to work in high intensity situations with tight deadlines
