As a Lead Benefits Analyst, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis, planning, and reporting for the operation of Target Corporation's qualified benefit trust plans (the Target 401(k) and pension plan) and several non-qualified benefit plans. You will provide vendor oversight and direction, facilitate payments to plan participants and vendors, lead audit and compliance processes, and administer plan benefits. You will maintain strong relationships with internal partners as well as external investment managers, banks, and consultants. You will analyze participant data to identify emerging trends and support presentations to senior leaders. You will also maintain a thorough knowledge of the financial benefit plans to help ensure that the plans operate in compliance with all rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for financial analysis, planning, and reporting for qualified and non-qualified benefit plans
  • Manage all aspects of capital market hedging activities for a $500M+ non-qualified benefit plan
  • Analyze investment data to identify trends and develop performance reporting for executive presentations
  • Generate and analyze monthly and long-range forecast of P&L results for Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation category
  • Lead audits and compliance processes of qualified benefit trust plans and non-qualified benefit plans for Benefits
  • Administer legacy non-qualified plans and act as point-of-contact for participant queries
  • Direct significant Corporate-Owned Life Insurance programs with several life insurance providers in coordination with external consultants
  • Oversee accuracy and timeliness of 401(k) performance data viewable by 100,000+ participants
  • Execute payments with vendors and participants of $300M+ per year
  • Develop strong relationships with Internal partners including Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Treasury, and Tax
  • Manage vendor oversight of 25+ investment managers, banks, and consultants

About you:
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of work experience in finance, accounting, or auditing
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Strong data and technical skills - proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn vendor systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self starter - able to problem solve and manage projects with minimal direction
  • Familiarity with savings/retirement plans and general employee benefit plans
  • Comfortable interacting with and explaining benefits to all levels of team members
