Responsible for coordinating of materials to meet production requirements with appropriate suppliers by confirming price and availability, resolving order and delivery issues when escalated by plant materials management and responding to plant and supplier inquiries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for inventory corrections with warehouse and suppliers.
Identifies and coordinates delivery of “critical” hot parts.
Monitors receipt reports to assure that planned delivery dates are met.
Reconciles receiving discrepancies for blocked invoices.
Coordinates inventory replenishment with supplier for quality issues.
Insures that obsolete inventories are properly and timely disposed of using agreed upon budget and parameters.
Coordinates the “outside” reworking of parts and materials to meet changes in the requirements due to TEO’s, ECN’s and TCN’s.
Coordinates all transportation activities for assigned commodities keeping the overall costs within the optimum cost and time parameters.
Coordinates information and materials delivery for new product lines.
Notifies sourcing department of potential supplier capacity issues.
Participates in supplier selection evaluation team process.
Manages material inventory as per assigned goals.
Insures COC’s and plant inspections are completed prior to production approval as needed.
Coordinates and participates with the Quality department on supplier quality initiatives, programs, and supplier reviews.
Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
Minimum of 1 – 3 years experience in production and materials planning, and material and inventory control.
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business or related discipline plus two – four years experience in production material planning and inventory control.
Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business or related discipline plus five years experience in production material planning and inventory control.
Strong knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning.
Proficiency in operation of personal computer (Windows environment) and SAP required.
Highly effective oral and written communication skills in order to be able to communicate with peers, subordinates, and various commercial and Toro vendors.
Proficiency and familiarity with part numbers and inventory screens.
Must be able to keep and maintain accurate and legible records and reports.
Be highly motivated and a self-starter.
Demonstrated ability in providing the creativity necessary to enhance and/or improve the job.
Ability to organize multiple work priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints.
Must possess excellent follow-up skills in order to thoroughly completed assigned tasks.
