CommonBond Communities invites qualified applicants to apply for the Corporate Engagement  Manager position at our Central Office in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Corporate Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of the organization’s overall corporate engagement plan , in concert with Senior Director of Development, to meet short and long-term charitable revenue goals of CommonBond Communities. The prime responsibility is to manage CommonBond’s corporate relationships year-round and execute comprehensive corporate engagement strategies.  This position works with corporate partners to create, sustain, and expand meaningful sponsorship opportunities including financial investments, employee engagement, brand promotion, and cause marketing that benefit the mission of CommonBond Communities. This person must possess exceptional relationship building, marketing, strategy development, project management and leadership abilities. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ASSOCIATED TASKS

 

1. In concert with Senior Director of Development, lead development and implementation of annual plans for overall engagement including events, cause marketing, and corporate engagement efforts that ultimately increase revenue and attract, retain and expand partners. 

a) Develops annual budget and business plan including financial and participation goals.

b) Develops comprehensive sponsorship packages that define value-added benefits for event sponsorship, cause-marketing campaign strategies, and sourcing for potential sponsors. 

c) Support multi-channel marketing and promotional plans for events, employee volunteer opportunities, and thought leadership opportunities in collaboration with Communications team.

d) Plan and oversee ongoing efforts to identify and solicit corporate sponsors.

e) Regularly analyze and evaluate fundraising efforts for their efficacy and determine when changes in strategy or tactics are required.

f) Oversee marketing performance management, analysis and reporting against established KPI’s

2. Lead annual signature fundraising event (Celebration of Home)   

a) Create deliverables and measurements, steering committee members responsibilities, resource needs, timelines and workplans. 

b) Serve as staff lead for all logistical elements including committee recruitment, venue, technology needs, program creation, and sponsorship deliverables. 

c) In collaboration with gift officer staff and others, secure all event sponsors, including the recruitment of new sponsors annually. 

d) Work with Communications Team on all pre-event, event, and post-event digital and print communications including sponsorship materials, invitations, video production, social media posts, and other event-based collateral materials. 

e) Work with Volunteer Manager to recruit and support event volunteers. 

f) Integrate event components into cause marketing plans to broaden participation among corporate partners 

g) Evaluate the effectiveness of the event and make recommendations for future years.

 

3. Lead annual golf tournament (Birdies For Hope) 

a) Create deliverables and measurements, steering committee members and responsibilities, resource needs, timelines and workplans. 

b) Serve as staff lead for all logistical elements including committee recruitment and staffing, course selection and day of event logistics, sub events and contests, and sponsorship deliverables. 

c) Secure all event sponsors, including the recruitment of new sponsors annually. 

d) Work with Communications Team on all pre, event, and post-event digital and print communications including sponsorship materials, invitations, signage, and social media posts. 

e) Work with Volunteer Manager to recruit and support event volunteers. 

f) Integrate event components into cause marketing plans to broaden participation among corporate partners. 

g) Evaluate the effectiveness of the event and make recommendations for future years.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree preferred 

• At least five years demonstrated leadership in corporate relations, special events, marketing and sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point 

• Effective writing, communication and presentation skills.

• Strong team-building skills, including organizing meetings and working with diverse constituents around a cause or project.

• Exceptional work ethic, flexible, and stimulated by a challenging work environment.

• Relationship driven and committed to building long lasting mutually beneficial corporate partnerships

 

OTHER SKILLS

• Deep commitment to and high energy and enthusiasm for raising visibility and engaging the community in a dynamic and growing affordable housing organization 

• Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge software very helpful. In lieu of Raiser’s Edge, working knowledge of Salesforce helpful.

• Quick study of other project management software

• Self-starter with a strong initiative, excellent problem-solving ability, perseverance and follow through, and ability to work with minimal supervision 

• Proven business development skills, including multi-task project leadership

The CommonBond Resource Development Team provides an opportunity for hybrid work environment with Tuesdays-Thursdays in the office. CommonBond does require proof of COVID 19 vaccination series or approved exemption within 45 days of hire.
