The Data Science Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a Data Science Lab Coordinator & Analyst position. This is a regular, full-time position.

The newly created Just Data Lab is an integral part of the vision of the Data Science Institute. The mission of the Just Data Lab is to empower the St. Kate's community through access to statistical analysis resources and training education. The Data Science Lab Coordinator & Analyst position will be one which strives to educate and train students, staff, and faculty in statistical software and data science tools as well as provide data analysis and visualization for the SHAS (School of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences) leadership team.

  • Establish the Just Data Lab as an university presence in collaboration with the Director of Data Science
  • Determine multiple ways to encourage St. Kate's community members to seek out the Just Data Lab for instruction and resources and to facilitate research collaborations
  • Partner with faculty and staff leaders across campus to identify program or classroom projects that would involve student use of the Just Data Lab as well as present in classes and to student groups about Just Data Lab resources
  • Foster a culture of inclusive excellence through authentic relationships with students, staff, faculty, and leadership of all cultures and abilities
  • Determine specific ways in which diverse students feel welcomed in and have easy access to the resources of the data lab
  • Continuously assess training materials and resources to ensure they are accessible to all
  • Create and launch consultation and training schedules for the services offered by the lab as well as develop virtual and physical training materials and training programs
  • Create dashboards, interactive tools, reports, etc. and make them available to the Deans' office and other key stakeholders as requested

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Statistics Education, Data Science, or related discipline
  • Experience with various statistical software, data visualization and data science tools, such as R/R-Studio, ArcGIS, SQL , Python, Tableau etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis/data reporting for units, departments, or organizations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Statistics/Statistics Education/Data Science or related discipline
  • One year of statistical analysis/research experience
  • Experience in data management using a range of software programs and data documentation
  • Knowledge of techniques for collaborating effectively with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Experience designing training or education materials that are accessible to people of all cultures and abilities.
  • Experience connecting with and supporting underrepresented students to successful outcomes.
