Goodhue County processes its information through an intricate network of personal computers, servers, firewalls, and switches.  The IT Department manages the processing of all information through the network which includes monitoring performance, backing up data, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new and updated systems. The IT Department supports all county employees in the use of technology from email and spreadsheets, to complex databases requiring state and federal security.

Job Summary: The primary objective of this position is to provide critical support for the entire County networking environment of physical and virtual servers, operating systems, application programs, networking equipment, SANs, and data backup systems. The position provides server and network support, application and database support, and other technical support. Work is generally performed in the office; however, there are some possibilities for limited remote work.

Minimum Requirements: Four-year degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, or four years of experience. Preference given to applicants with hands-on experience supporting a complex, enterprise-wide network infrastructure.
