As Product Development Director, Essentials, you will lead a diverse team of Engineers, Scientists, and Designers in the development of new products for the segments of household cleaning chemicals, tissue, baby consumables and personal care. You will develop big ideas and technical & design strategies that achieve Target's overall product strategies and goals for sustainability and inclusivity. Under Product Design & Development leadership, and in partnership with peers, you will be responsible for the entire development process from product strategy through execution.

You'll take the lead as you develop technical & design strategies and guide your team through the execution of product design. In partnership with your cross functional peers, you'll develop industry-changing products and/or processes, ensuring owned brand products are leading the industry and driving long-term benefits to Target. You'll also collaborate with partners and vendors to ensure that strategies are clearly understood and successfully brought to life with every product we offer. Finally, you'll lead, develop and manage team members by setting clear objectives, providing ongoing performance feedback, and evaluating potential.

About You:
  • Four-year degree in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Design or equivalent based on specialization, or equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in consumer product segments of household cleaning, tissue products, baby products, personal care, or beauty with a focus on consumer research and new product launches
  • Demonstrated ability to identify consumer, regulatory, and legal trends applicable to household, baby and healthcare categories
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability of product development teams
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes for formulated goods, tissue products, and personal care products
  • Business understanding and acumen
  • Strong project management skills

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $113,800.00 to $204,900.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
