BUSINESS ANALYST - RATE DEVELOPMENT

Work Location: Standard or hybrid

Position Description

This position is responsible to research, document, and perform analyses of business goals, objectives and needs of the business regarding payment rates and payment methodologies applied to provider services. Provide recommendations for change to payment rates or payment methodologies in order to improve and support business goals. Serve as liaison between the business and Health Care Economics relating to payment rates and payment methodologies. Collaborate with UCare departments to triage and troubleshoot payment related solutions. Ensure requirements and solutions conform to departmental, corporate, industry and government standards as specified.

• Research and document payment methodologies and payment rates for UCare offered products.

• Support third party pricing software solutions through review and analysis of known issues documents as well as release notes.

• Research and document compliance inquiries related to payment rates and payment methodologies.

• Complete financial analysis and modeling of new and proposed payment rates and payment methodologies.

• Research and analyze State and Federal legislation relating to payment rates and payment methodologies.

• Assist in the development of fee schedules.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Assist departments with payment related support and ensure solutions continue to meet business requirements.

• Actively participate in workgroups and committees related to provider pricing as assigned by the Payment Integrity Manager.

• Other projects and duties, as assigned.

Education

BS/BA with and emphasis in finance/accounting or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of pricing or payment methodology experience. Intermediate abilities with Excel.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of the Managed Care industry and SQL skills.
