About Us:

As a Fortune 50 company with more than 350,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers.

Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.

At the heart of one of the world's best loved and most recognizable brands is an impeccable Product Design & Development organization. We thrive on the magic of discovering that just-right thing, and we infuse everything we do with our passion for affordable chic. We concept, develop, make and deliver the stylish new favorites that Target guests expect and deserve. We are uber-savvy trend and style experts who stay ahead of the curve, proactively identifying our market's needs and exceeding them, every time. Join one of our dynamic and inventive teams to influence the style, quality and value that decisively position Target above the competition. Your input will have a direct and positive effect, whether on home, hardlines, essentials, beauty, or apparel categories. Here, you'll be close to the action of dreaming up and bringing to life the Target-owned brands that surprise and gratify guests, wherever and whenever they love to shop.

Your role as an Associate Product Engineer in Outdoor Living means working hand-in-hand with other engineers and designers who create products that truly embody the intent of Target-owned brands. You will use your skills, experience, and talents to support the development of industry leading products used by millions of people every day. Can you ensure that each product has that just-right mix of style, quality and value? Do you love to create technical product solutions that help meet strategic business goals? Then you'll have success on our talented and innovative team. Here, you'll partner with our quality and compliance teams to understand performance testing protocols and develop products that meet them. Your work can help identify technical specifications and quality standards like raw materials, functionality, construction details and dimensions. You'll leverage collective expertise to suggest improvements to cost of goods, assembly, sustainability and ROI. You'll also collaborate with vendors to ensure that the brand vision is clearly understood and successfully brought to life with every product we offer.

As an Associate Product Engineer, Outdoor Furniture, you will execute the technical development process that ensures product adherence to the quality standards established for Target-owned brands. Under the overall direction of the Director, you will interpret designer's concepts and usher product through its development lifecycle. This includes partnering with our vendors to develop prototypes, identifying and addressing manufacturing issues, monitoring guest feedback, developing and maintaining technical specifications and performance standards for owned-brand products, and approving final samples. You will also identify and communicate recommendations for product improvements, research emerging category and consumer trends, and stay current on benchmarks for specified categories to ensure Target product meets or exceeds the performance of the competitors' product. In addition, you will provide technical product guidance to design, sourcing and merchant teams.
