A role with Pay and Benefits is all about the numbers. You'll produce extensive benchmarking, rigorous market research and analysis to inform the right compensation mix for roles across the company. Your point of view will be directly applied to keeping Target competitive and standing out in the sea of other places candidates can choose. You'll develop great relationships with our vendors to get the most out of our systems and resources. And you'll help team members understand their compensation.

As a Sr. Compensation Analyst, you will provide professional level compensation analysis and support for Target's global compensation processes and programs. This role will partner with other members of the compensation team to effectively execute on strategic initiatives so that Target can attract, motivate and reward our talent. This will include managing our survey strategy and planning, data analysis for market review, MarketPay system administration and process and data support for all compensation processes and projects.
  • Salary survey strategy and planning - responsible for identifying the right surveys for Target to participate in and ensuring there is a plan built to gather and report all data needed to complete the surveys
  • MarketPay System Administrator - ensures all survey results, team member data, job data, and pay structures in the system are up-to-date and accurate. Vendor manager for MarketPay and primary liaison to our vendor representative. Gathers and suggest enhancements on behalf of Target
  • Market Review Analyst - Evaluates and analyzes market data and research to determine competitive positioning of our salary ranges and pay programs. Utilizes analytical insights to develop and present meaningful recommendations. Supports complex research and analysis associated with special compensation programs or projects. Prepares special market analysis as requested.
  • Provides ad hoc data requests to compensation staff in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor compensation market trends to ensure market competitiveness
  • Provide support to the Annual Performance and Pay process including system testing, and management of our HR & Leader support model.
  • Manage or contribute to special projects as needed


About you:
  • Experience working with compensation surveys and survey vendors
  • Strong experience working with HR Data & Systems (e.g. Workday)
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to gather, analyze and organize data
  • Ability to analyze data to make effective decisions
  • Technical aptitude & curiosity to learn new tools
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions (e.g. HR, Data, Tech)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strategic thinker that can effectively present ideas to all levels of the organization
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years of Compensation experience


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $62,500k to $112,500k.
