ROBOTICS PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA) ENGINEER LEAD

Work Location: Work from Home, standard or hybrid

Position Description

This position is responsible to participate in the design, development and implementation of new and existing systems and features while delivering high quality solutions on time and within budget as part of the Application Development Service Team. In this role, you will work across UCare departments, with a focus on planning and analysis activities to provide project timelines, risks and opportunities, costs, etc. Collaborate with business partners on design automation opportunities; document and track current and future state business processes and requirements across multiple functional business areas; facilitate requirements gathering within multiple business functional areas to develop a comprehensive business requirements document; create functional and technical specifications and handle changes to requirements; develop bots utilizing an automation tool (i.e., UI Path); define test scenarios, create test plans, and execute test scripts; and adhere to project related policies and procedures.

A strong background and hands on development experience is required as this role will be required to split their time between leadership and the role of a senior software developer. Research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). Analyze and remediate more complex software defects and provide recommendations for enhancements

This position is also responsible to champion established software development standards and policies. In addition, you will be responsible for training staff, promoting standards-based software engineering practices, mentoring and coaching staff. This role will work on a cross-functional team including quality assurance, technology operations and product managers, to assist with solution and architectural design.

• Understand and implement modern design patterns to facilitate code re-use and develop scalable/fault tolerant systems.

• Mentor developers on coding best practices and serve as a technical escalation point during development.

• Lead code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.

• Design, develop, and configure Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software systems to meet business process and application requirements.

• Design and implement "helper" elements to improve automation performance and re-use (e.g., runtime configurations / settings).

• Create and document test procedures and scenarios for pre-UAT phases.

• Complete thorough testing of automation in training/production environments.

• Ability to understand and execute a business process from the workflow diagram to conceptualize it as an automated solution.

• Support implementing enhancements and change requests as part of a structured change control process.

• Work collaboratively with operational and technical teams to deliver projects by assigned deadlines.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of software development experience, with at least two years' experience working with Robotic Process Automation. Experience with UiPath (ideally at least 2020.10 or 2021.4). Knowledge of SQL as well as C# (or Java). Proficient with remote connectivity applications such as Citrix Receiver, Horizon VMWare Client, RDP. Version control such as GIT, Subversion, Team Foundation Server, etc. Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Javascript, Ruby, Python, Java, C#, .Net, Visual Basic, etc. Solid understanding of SOAP and RESTful API's. Experience with Agile / Scrum with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello, Pivotal Tracker. Demonstrated knowledge of and applicability of Object-Oriented techniques and principles. Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Experience

Advanced or master certification with UiPath. Experience with databases (SQL or noSQL) and data ETL. ITIL Certification.
