St. Catherine University and the College for Adults and the Graduate School Admission team invites applications for an Assistant Director of Admission position. This is a full-time position that works closely with prospective students as they apply for admission.

The Assistant Director of Admission will work with students to help them find their career path and then find the easiest way for them to get there! No two students are the same so our work is endlessly fascinating. Our Admission office offers a fast-paced environment with colleagues who are passionate about St. Catherine University and about finding potential students who are a great fit. This position represents our College for Adults and our Graduate College, managing prospective student relationships and administering admission procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsel and advise prospective students about admission, curriculum, tuition and financial aid opportunities.
  • Manage, in collaboration with faculty, admission procedures for large volumes of applications in a selective admission environment.
  • Recruit and advise all inquiring potential students, with consistent attention to follow-up contacts and encouragement to complete the application process.
  • Independently represent the University and its programs to key external audiences, using a sophisticated understanding of University programs, and of sales and recruitment techniques.
  • Engage in a wide variety of outreach activities to build awareness among prospective students in the community, in healthcare organizations, nonprofits and public agencies, at undergraduate colleges and other settings.
  • For those who have inquired, form close, ongoing relationships in order to convert as many as possible to applicants, focusing on yield strategies for accepted students.
  • Learn and understand the selling points of offered degree and certificate programs.
  • Share in a collaborative, team-oriented approach to outreach, recruitment and admission work, contributing to selected projects for the advancement of admission operations.
  • Manage planning and logistics for on-campus recruitment events.
  • Administer and manage data related to external, centralized application systems ( CAS ) with an exceptionally high degree of accuracy.
  • Work and occasionally travel during evenings and weekends for recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) years of full-time work experience in admission, college advising, college counseling, financial literacy, or financial education. This could also include experience in sales.
  • Experience interacting respectfully and helpfully with a diverse population of students and parents.
  • Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.




Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience effectively representing an education institution to prospective students and other key external constituents.
  • Three to five years higher education experience.
