The Cloud and Compute Security & Compliance team focuses on improving security and compliance at scale, while building or enabling service efficiencies for Target's cloud customers. Our team takes on work anchored to the delivery of 3 key results 1. Decrease cognitive load for Target tech engineers in either role as infrastructure customers or service providers 2. Improve security posture in Target's modern technology 3. Reduce compliance related toil. You will have frequent interactions, collaborating with several security and infrastructure teams within Target, driving the vision of the product.

Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of this team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
  • Develop new features for the security products and serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the products.
  • Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership.
  • Develop and gain insight into architecture patterns, consumer requirements, and deployment needs.
  • Promote software engineering best practices and develop consistent, scalable patterns.
  • Consult with architects, lead engineers and developers across numerous products/service groups to design robust cloud applications and to improve security posture.
  • Display good problem-solving skills to help the team in triaging operational issues. Leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences and improve the reliability of our services.
  • Establish new standards and best practices to monitor, test, automate, and maintain software components or systems.


Requirements:
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience as a software developer in modern languages/frameworks like Java, Ratpack, Groovy, GoLang, Spring Boot with at least one full cycle implementation
  • Experience designing/building software at scale that runs on cloud platforms.
  • Experience with modern CI/CD technologies such as Git, Drone, Docker, Artifactory
  • Experience with monitoring systems, tracing, and observability to manage business critical large-scale systems.
  • Demonstrates broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (e.g., open source). Designs, develops, and approves end-to-end functionality of a product line, platform and infrastructure
  • Passionate about staying current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with security compliance industry certifications including SOX, PCI, & GLBA
  • Experience with a cloud platform like AWS, GCP
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features
  • Experience with software virtualization and containerization


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,400-$146,500.
