Position Description

This position is responsible to help proactively and holistically guide UCare through transformation and optimization initiatives. Lead, prioritize and develop the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA) strategy for the organization, and communicates architectural direction. Oversee a team of domain architects (business, information, solution, technical, security and others).

Grow revenue, optimize costs, and mitigate risks for the organization. Partner with business leaders to create and build their future-state business capabilities which will directly impact the organization's identified business objectives.

Establishes an internal management consultancy partnership that offers a portfolio of services to business leaders and enterprise stakeholders. Create, define, and implement the advisory process.

• Develop, implement, and manage UCare's Enterprise Architecture practice by setting architecture standards, methodologies, minimal viable architecture, and governance model.

• Run or participate in architecture review meetings where you will be responsible to review and approve design documents and software architecture definition (SAD) documents.

• Leads the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on UCare's business strategy and requirements and development of a value proposition and execution of a communication and education plan for the Enterprise Architect (EA) practice.

• Plans and manages a talent pool of domain architects that works with EA and non-EA related disciplines to deliver the goals, objectives, and outcomes of the organization, while providing guidance and direction to Solution Architects supporting UCare.

• Align UCare's technology resources with the organization's short- and long-term goals, formulate strategy and guide execution.

• Present gaps analysis and/or IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing.

• Understand disruptive forces and the business's economic and financial levers that are susceptible to digital transformation to effectively guide technology investment decisions.

• Leads the analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry to determine their potential impact on UCare's business strategy, direction, and architecture.

• Provides perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate, while facilitating innovation.

• Provide roadmaps that show how the organization will move towards a certain future state.

• Keep abreast of new technologies available.

• Review of request for new software or vendors for fit into UCare's existing environment.

• Partner with the CIO and IT leaders to find the right EA organizational design to drive business-outcomes.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a closely related field. Master's Degree preferred.

Required Experience

At least fifteen years of experience in Information Technology, with progressively complex experience in Information Technology. At least ten years of experience combined in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multi-tier environment.

Preferred Experience

Proven track record for delivering an Enterprise Architecture Strategy for an organization and demonstrated ability to successfully execute the plan. Experience working in a collaborative and complex environment, to partner with various technology teams and business stakeholders to identify requirements, converting them to functional specifics, prioritizing and driving execution using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies. Experience with API performance, data acquisition and processing, data management, and/or distributed processing.
