About the Job:

The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Product Manager will maintain and build products ranging from real-time data streaming to neural computing. Your products will enable teams at Target to stream, filter, transform, and analyze high-bandwidth data in real-time, and provide tools for data engineers and other team members to analyze and take action on their data. You will research the capabilities of next generation computer hardware, architectures, and algorithms in order to: build enterprise grade, efficient products and provide guidance on building scalable, fully utilized infrastructures. Specific responsibilities include to:
  • Ensure work aligns to the OKRs/metrics of the product
  • Clearly understand and articulate the vision, strategy, and plan for the product to stakeholders
  • Exhibit strong communication within immediate product and engineering team, and with key partners of the product
  • Own backlog prioritization: Create user stories and acceptance criteria and drive decisions to prioritize all stories to ensure work aligns with product strategy
  • Foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to meet OKRs
  • Solicit and leverage feedback from key stakeholders and users of product(s)


Product Teams at Target Corporation are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology and design work.

As a Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will collaborate with your product team and key stakeholders to develop a plan and business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product. You will need to build a strong knowledge of your product through product discovery to collect customer feedback and work to collect other relevant data points that explain the value and help you prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your product. You will work in unison with engineers, UX designers, data scientists and business partners to deliver a product.

You will be the "voice of the product" with your product team and stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and you will be responsible to maintain and refine the product backlog (create user stories & acceptance criteria) while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of product experience, infrastructure domain preferred
  • Ability to understand data engineering and cloud technologies and facilitate communication between business and tech teams
  • Ability to influence data engineering product strategy and roadmap
  • Ability to perform market research on stream processing platforms
  • Demonstrate product life-cycle prioritization
  • Hardware/software product launch/release experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong accountability
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technical aptitude
  • Experience working in an agile environment (familiar with concepts such as user stories, iterative development, sprints, personas)
