St. Catherine University and The Residence Life department invite applications for a temporary Programming Coordinator position that will work fifteen (15) hours weekly.

Grounded in centering the student experience and founded at an institution committed to social justice, the Residence Life department provides innovative and educational services that lifts voices and offers support, by fostering meaningful experiences for our students and families living on campus. The Programming Coordinator of Residence Life will lead the department's Tradition events, partnering with departments across campus and supervising a team of student staff. Traditions are large-scale events that are a benefit to living on campus. These events would contribute to belonging and overall persistence for our residential student population. Responsibilities are to:

  • Lead in creating and implementing Residence Life traditions
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Residence Life to create and implement programming goals, assessment techniques, and expectations for Residence Life Programming Team, holding them accountable when appropriate
  • Work with Residence Life staff and other campus members to plan community-wide events, which may include Orientation/Move-In programming, Citizen Katie, and Dew Drop Bop
  • Train Residence Life staff on programming, event promotion, and community development
  • Lead weekly staff meetings, approximately one hour in length
  • Serve as supervising and guiding presence at programs sponsored or put on by Residence Life Programming Team, including night and weekend programming. Attendance is required for these events.
  • Assist in managing the Residence Life Resource Room, including organization, updating labeling, supply ordering and tracking, etc.
  • Coordinate programming purchasing/shopping for the Programming Team.
  • Monitor and maintain programming budgets.
  • Track replenishment of programming supplies, inventory, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Able to lift 20lbs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a graduate program that focuses on college student personnel, higher education personnel, or a related field.
  • Experience in Residence Life or Student Center and Activities/Campus Life
