A role in Store Design-Architecture means the opportunity to apply your innovative and sustainable architectural design and technical expertise. Your work will ultimately help define the physical experience. The interactions and connectivity between the physical, digital and human elements Target develops for our guest, will evolve the brand image in store and ultimately support Target's business strategies. You'll interpret program and scope details to integrate them with interior and exterior site design and aesthetic for new stores, remodels and innovation projects

As a Lead Architecture Project Designer, you will have responsibility for developing all site design, exterior design, and interior store design. You will be responsible for leading exterior city and developer entitlement approvals with Real Estate partners, leading the design and development of one story and complex multi-level projects, and designing projects with developer teams ensuring the Target brand is fully represented. Role will require juggling multiple projects at one time (10-15), in various stages of development, a full understanding of how buildings are detailed and constructed, with innate knowledge of general technical Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical systems, and Sustainability expertise that influence design solutions. You will be responsible to research retail and other industry benchmarks, competition and internal guest insights to inform concept direction as well as maintain knowledge and understanding of current industry design trends and best methods. You will lead coordination with cross enterprise team members (e.g. Construction, Engineering, Real Estate, Store Planning, Fixture Design, Store Operations, Procurement, Creative, Space and Presentation, Visual Merchandising, etc.) to complete design concepts and deliver project scopes that align with strategic direction, schedule and budget. You will translate strategy into design intent through the development of concept options including sketches and renderings and inform, direct and speak to design aesthetic to internal and external (city, developer, on internally produced work. You will coordinate, present and articulate design rationale for concept design reviews and coordinate and align with Implementation team for hand-off. This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400.00 to $153,700.00 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family. About you:
  • 4 Year accredited degree (architecture design preferred and or related Master's degree)
  • 6-12 years relevant retail experience (preferred)
  • Excellent design and presentation skills, communication, collaboration, organizational and project management skills
  • High proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Form Z, SolidWorks, Photoshop, InDesign or equivalent
  • Proven design, project management, and visual communication drawing skills, to develop preliminary solutions for design or technical problems
  • Knowledge of ASME systems, basic building materials, how buildings are designed, detailed and built, interior and exterior finishes, plastics, metal and wood manufacturing processes. Sustainability expertise is preferred.
  • Ability to autonomously think strategically and conceptually
  • Ability to autonomously think holistically while developing design and technical concepts
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external industry working relationships
