Within Pay & Benefits, as a Sr. Compensation Business Partner, you will own the overall project management of the Executive Compensation owned sections of the annual Proxy Statement, including leading benchmarking and review of competitor proxy statements. Through this process, you will prepare the Compensation Discussion and Analysis, as well as work with multiple partners, including Legal, Pay & Benefits, and Finance to compile compensation data for the Proxy and provide updates to senior leadership.

You will lead the pay ratio calculation process, including interim and year-end calculations for CEO and median team member pay. Through this process, you will work with partners in Data Sciences and Benefits and provide updates to senior leadership throughout the year. You will also assist Risk and Communications teams with preparation of external media materials.

You will also be responsible for all aspects of Board of Director Compensation, including coordinating the annual compensation election process, quarterly cash payments, annual Form 1099s, and all compensation communications sent directly to the Directors, including new and retiring Director communications. In addition, you will provide support in preparation of meeting materials for the Compensation & Human Capital Management Committee as well as other ad hoc executive compensation projects.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and understanding of complex regulations
  • Proven ability to project manage, including prioritize and multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong problem solving, organization, and presentation skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to gather, analyze and organize data
  • Collaborates effectively with others
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Highly motivated and results driven


About you:
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 - 6 years of Finance, Compensation, or Human Resources experience
  • Strong attention to detail, along with being able to analyze data to make effective decisions
  • Results oriented, being able to anticipate key issues and problems and come to resolution quickly
  • Strategic thinker that can effectively present ideas to all levels of the organization
  • Strong partnership and relationship skills
  • Possesses storytelling skills and ability to use data to support the story


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600-$118,100 .
