A role in the Finance Operations calls on your skills for quality financial and operational reporting and analytics, ensuring accurate financials while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As Sr Analyst, Payroll Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll is processed timely and accurately for all U.S. team members. You will lead the day-to-day transactional activities of the Payroll Operations team and ensure all operational and accounting processes and controls are effective for timely, accurate and compliant payroll activities. In addition, you will be responsible for executing complex operational plans, leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives, and other assigned projects for the Payroll Operations team to create the foundation for excellent operations and ensure that new solutions meet our requirements for completeness and accuracy. Developing strong relationships with key partners including the Global Payroll team in India, Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, Finance, Legal and Employee Relations is critical to success in this role. Given the volume and complexity of the regulatory environment, you will work closely with the Sr Manager, Payroll Operations to ensure operations are compliant with all Payroll regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Sarbanes Oxley by developing and maintaining a robust system of internal controls and processes. You'll lead the requirements and testing of new technology solutions and incident recoveries with our product and technology partners. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • B.A/B.S degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of Payroll Business experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or ability to obtain CPP within two years
  • Strong team leadership skills and ability to lead and develop others in a team setting
  • Experience in compliance research and internal controls
  • High level of curiosity, initiative, and the desire to learn end to end processes to drive improvements
  • Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and react to ad hoc requests with a resilient and adaptable approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to connect with partners across the organization to identify and resolve issues
  • Comfortable with technology, testing, and working with engineers to resolve system issues

Desired Requirements:
  • Workday Payroll experience
  • Experience with in-house garnishment administration
  • Payroll banking experience

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600-$118,100.
