As a Project Manager, you'll take the lead as you manage technology hardware projects directly related to Target's strategic priorities. See your efforts come to fruition in Target Stores, Distribution Centers, and Headquarters locations by assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Use your strong analytical skills to ensure project delivery is on time and within budget while communicating milestones and risks to business partners and technology product owners. About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstrates Project Management proficiency and consistently applies best practices across these PM knowledge areas: Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communication, and Risk Management, and methodologies (e.g., waterfall and agile)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to talk to people in person, via Zoom, or on the phone for the majority of your day
  • SmartSheet Tool familiarity
  • Experience supporting technology in a retail environment, especially for Stores
  • Detail oriented; strong organizational and analytical skills
  • High degree of professionalism and high sensitivity for confidentiality
  • Works both independently and well within a collaborative project team
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and on-time
  • Ability to follow documented and oral instructions and directions
  • Ability to learn and apply new knowledge and skills quickly
  • Ability to apply logical thinking to complete tasks without errors


About a Senior Project Manager Role and delivering technology projects at Target:

Scope, Schedule, and Cost
  • Leads project kickoff
  • Accountable for project requirements, schedule, and budget
  • Applies technical knowledge to make suggestions to scope/schedule/cost
  • Regularly communicates scope/schedule/cost status to stakeholders
  • Negotiates scope/schedule/cost status with stakeholders
  • Manages project dependencies and sequencing of activities
  • Plans, estimates, and controls approved project budget
  • Leads change processes and outlines the project need to gain approval and to ensure the project management "triangle" is in balance
    • Partners with stakeholders to define products and/or services to be procured
    • Accountable to ensure procurement activities completed within sequence of events defined within project plan (purchase, shipping, delivery to market, quality of product)
    • Negotiates and implements procurement solutions that improve project quality, timeline, or budget requirements

Quality/Process
  • Identifies process improvements
  • Approaches projects with lens of repeatability

Focuses on data and process improvement
  • Organizes and creates documentation for the betterment of the project/Target


Technical/Product Expertise (Developed over time)
  • Working knowledge of technology stack per project - including infrastructure, devices, operating systems, databases, networking, source code, etc., for Store, DC, or HQ operations
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the product's functionality, and understands how other groups interact with it.
