A role in Global Inventory Management means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You'll use the right combination of data and expertise to achieve the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll also focus on the efficient transportation of product around the world, while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and achieving the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll not only establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately guests, but you'll also analyze transportation supplier capabilities and contracts for maximum speed, reliability and cost effectiveness.

As an Lead Project Manager Supplier Performance Management, you'll lead a CFT through root cause problem solving to build process standards, operational tracking metrics and controls that will help SPM and IM elevate Supplier Performance on key operation measurements such as ASN accuracy, DC Appointment accuracy, Physical shipment accuracy, On-Time Ship, On-Time Arrival and Fill Rate. This role will learn each process deeply. Utilize root cause problem solving to fully understand defects across the entire 1st Mile. Then build performance data metrics and build strategies for operators to identify performance gaps and improve said performance. As Target transforms its supply chain, this role has the opportunity to develop new metrics and ways of looking at data while helping to develop new routines and joint capabilities across the supply chain and externally with supplier partners that enable faster and more accurate order fulfillment and lead to improved Guest experiences.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand holistic 1st Mile process, be accountable to vendor specific defects
  • Lead CFT with GSCL SMEs to understand processes, build metrics and perform data analysis on key supplier performance measures
  • Collaborate with operators and DSA to build sustainable data views for operators to identify root cause defects and action plan to improve performance
  • Collaborate with operators to define process to follow to improve performance
  • Build data-driven root cause analysis to share findings with SMEs across 1st Mile to develop process improvements
  • Lead a portfolio of testing/scaling performance improvement initiatives: Understand impact/effort of scaling, collaborate and build process for scale, build measurement/tracking/WBR process

Job Requirements:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years' experience in Inventory Management, Retail Supply Chain, or related field
  • Subject Matter Expertise in portions of the First Mile Supply Chain
  • Proven results leveraging a project management discipline to lead cross functional projects
  • High data acumen - ability to ideate root cause defect metrics based upon supply chain processes
  • Ability to initiate and grow relationships with internal and external leadership teams
  • Excellent ability to write and distribute content for external consumption
  • Proven results in co-creating complex solutions across several parties with differing views and incentives


Preferred Capabilities
  • Capability building comprehensive data driven prototype solutions to problems
  • Experience with SQL/BigRed/Greenfield creation or other data-mining capabilities and statistical analysis


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,300 to $146,400.
