Within Merchandising is Owned Brand Strategy and Operations (OBS&O). This team supports the Owned Brand Sourcing & Development (OBS&D) and Owned Brand Product Development & Packaging (OBPD+P) organizations, multi-national teams responsible for the product creation and global sourcing of Target's Owned Brands including Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Home, Hardlines, Essentials/Beauty, and Food/Beverage. The Owned Brand organization includes functional roles such as Brand Management, Design, Engineering, Global Sourcing, Product Development, Packaging, Quality, Responsible Sourcing, and more. The Transformation Office is a team within OB S&O that drives connectivity, removes silos, and develops holistic solutions for the Owned Brand Modernization (OBM) Enterprise Strategic Priority. The goal of Owned Brand Modernization is to build an industry-leading Owned Brand operating model that modernizes and globalizes the way we create and source products to meet our ambitious financial and impact aspirations. Due to the evolving nature of retail, the projects and capabilities you lead will change over-time and be prioritized based the Owned Brand Business Plan and Enterprise Priorities.

As the Sr. Owned Brand Strategy and Operations Manager for the Owned Brand Modernization Transformation Office:
  • Lead program management for Owned Brand Modernization (OBM), managing the steering committee and optimizing governance, roles & responsibilities and roadmaps to organize building 6 capabilities across multiple workstreams
  • Deliver OBM communication and engagement workstream, including creating content for organizational design, role change deployments, monthly all-team communication vehicles, and supporting SVP-level presentation content
  • Drive connectivity, identify dependencies, and optimize sequencing of change across strategies, projects, and pyramid priorities by establishing program routines, governance, metrics, and engagement plans
  • Connect Owned Brand Modernization efforts to Enterprise priorities
  • Consult with business experts to understand current operations, research and benchmark industry best practices, identify opportunities for improvement and take action to implement change
  • Support global business leaders to drive toward aligned solutions, decisions, and enable leader led change
  • Develop stakeholder analysis, change management plans, training, and documentation strategies in partnership with OB S&O peers
  • Computer skills: MS Office 365 - PowerPoint, SmartSheet, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint

About You

  • Four year degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience (i.e. Strategy, Communications, Program/Project/Change Management)
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous and rapidly changing work environment, working both independently and leading cross functional teams
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to bring order to unstructured problems, and clearly communicate complex findings to focus on issues and actionable opportunities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, succinct presentation, and thoughtful questioning
  • Demonstrated success working closely with senior leaders, including influencing without authority
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills characterized by effective interactions with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and audiences
  • Ability to quickly organize and prioritize complex work and track record of operational excellence
  • Respects, appreciates and values diverse voices and approaches
