SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST

Target Enterprise, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Data Scientist at our offices in Minneapolis, MN. This position is part of the Target Data Science & Analytics team that creates the tools and data products to sustainably educate and enable business partners to make great data-based decisions at Target. This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 3 years of related experience. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 12 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: (1) building, optimizing, and scaling Python/R code, SQL queries, and Linux/Unix/awk commands to collect, clean, wrangle, visualize, and validate large data sets; (2) analyzing the data, creating output variables, generating enhanced derived input features, performing variable screening and variable reduction, and applying mathematical concepts to generate statistics, build predictive models, and perform statistical testing and measurement; (3) deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, adding enhancements to, and scaling predictive models and analytics products on the cloud infrastructure for end user real-time utilization of data science solutions; (4) building and evaluating supervised and un-supervised Machine Learning models including Random Forests, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machines, Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, and K-means Clustering; and (5) writing performance reports for finished models using ROC curves, Lift curves, and confusion matrix to evaluate models, to compare model performances between versions, and to present the results to clients and prospects. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master's program. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to a Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
