​A role with External Engagement is a chance to positively impact several key areas of Target's business. Your work will contribute to developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with officials, public service agencies, and assets protection organizations across the country.

​The Business Partner of Assets Protection - External Engagement manage and evaluate public safety aspect in identification, development, planning and execution of community building events that have an AP/Investigative connection. The primary responsibilities include implementing new processes for public safety events, management and evaluation of external requests, measuring results and evaluating impact.

You will also work on managing the development and implementation of public safety event processes for the field and supporting external engagement communication. You will also own intake and requests processes along with evaluating and communicating decisions effectively to internal and external partners. Some of the core responsibilities are:

  • ​Working collaboratively with HQ AP team, Field AP teams, Human Resources, Corporate Responsibility and Government Affairs.
  • ​Representing AP in partnership with other teams (internal and external) to guide policies and priorities.
  • Providing regular and real time communication updates to the field.
  • ​Promoting an atmosphere of teamwork and trust.
  • ​Managing and evaluating external requests, implementing process for public safety events in the field.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • ​1-4 years business experience
  • Ability to manage projects, set timeliness and meet deadlines
  • ​Desire to improve processes through technology and make programs more efficient
  • ​Strong problem solving, and organizational skills
  • ​​​Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • ​Excellent problem solving skills
  • ​Ability to maximize relationships team player/inspires others/takes partners across the organization and with external partners
  • ​Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, SmartSheets
  • Ability to travel 5-10%


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $52,200 to $94,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
