Primary Function:

As a Senior Data Analyst in Assets Protection Data Insights, you'll be part of an analytical team responsible for data discovery, design, delivery, science, reporting, and analysis for our Assets Protection organization supporting our HQ, Stores, Supply Chain and Investigations Center partners. In this role, you'll serve as an advocate and architect of our data-driven culture, build and maintain an effective data ecosystem, and apply advanced analytical and scientific techniques directly to business problems, iterating on both the delivery and the deliverable of end-to-end analytics. You'll partner closely with not just Assets Protection's, but all of Target's technology, data science, and business partners to develop curated and scalable insights that democratize data, mature analytical approaches, and drive actionable insights to our end users.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining prototype to large-scale datasets, analytical insights, and reporting
  • Actively exploring data for specific use cases
  • Working directly with business leaders and partners with varying levels of analytical and technical experience to develop testable hypotheses and analytical applications
  • Applying statistical techniques and rigor to develop analytical metrics, models, and feedback loops
  • Documenting calculations, code, and adhering to data management principles
  • Active participant in enterprise analytics community, trainings, and routines
  • Active participant and contributor in team meetings, agile ceremonies, scoping, and demos


Reporting/Working Relationships:

Works directly with product owners, process owners, other analysts, data scientists, and engineers to gain and share insights, techniques, and applications of relevant data. Engages with product owners and users to iterate on and deliver completed work in a collaborative environment. Active participant in Data and Analytics functions and training.

Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS in a quantitative degree - Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience in statistical analysis, metric development, and visualization
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL, Python, R, etc.
  • Exposure to Big Data tools and Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Spark, etc.)
  • Experience in business partner collaboration within own area and across other pyramids/areas Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education


Preferred:
  • Experience using machine learning to solve complex business problems
  • Experience in or exposure to Assets Protection business domain


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600-$118,100.
