About You

As a Director of Engineering for the Detection and Visibility Team, you will be the technical leader of detection specialists who secure Target against current and future threats against guests and the company. Detection and Visibility works closely with our Cyber Threat Intelligence and Investigations teams to keep current on tactics and techniques used by threat actors of varying levels of sophistication in the cyber security, insider threat, and fraud focus areas. As the leader of the team, you will help foster growth for each engineer as they build subject matter expertise (SME) in our various detection platforms, detection techniques, threats, and business areas.

The goal of the team is to automate not only threat and fraud detection, but also triage and response to the extent possible. To accomplish this, we have access to the latest in technologies and implement custom solutions as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to, driving visibility and detection strategy from inception to implementation as well as developing core detection competencies in our enterprise environment. You will be a central part of a world-class cyber threat detection team, pushing state of the practice to new levels of maturity.

Required:

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 7+ years in Cyber Security Threat Intelligence, Threat Detection, or Incident Response
• 3+ years of leadership, management, and team mentoring experience
• Extensive SIEM experience
• Demonstrates ability to work on fast moving teams
• Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop a strategy, and execute over time
• Stays current with new technologies and threat actor techniques via formal training and self-directed education
• Experience operationalizing processes

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $137,500 to $247,500 annually.
