A role in Buying means working with several diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online. We help determine where to localize, while calibrating market positioning and acting as brand managers. Here, you'll own a wide SKU count so that your work is varied and challenging. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market and the competition.

As an Owned Brand Strategy Lead, you will work with the Owned Brand Management Team to influence category relevant owned brand strategy and assortment. You will utilize internal and external data to gain deeper understanding of the business and Target performance. You will partner closely with the category buyers to understand merchant strategies and develop annual owned brand category strategies inclusive of Insights, How to Win, Assortment line plans, financials and claims. You will need to translate long range owned brand strategies to an assortment line plan to support cross-functional teams product development. You will develop initial category launch plans in partnership with Merchandising, Digital, and Marketing teams to drive awareness and trial.

About you:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Merchandising experience with various product categories and omni- channel retail experience preferred (Experience launching owned brands preferred)
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional team
  • Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in "grey areas" that are constantly changing
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills to drive growth in business
