Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Target Merchandising is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how this $90+ billion retailer offers the innovative, guest-inspiring items that Target is known and loved for. Our goal is to deliver exceptional value, quality and style to elevate Target as the premier retailer in a competitive global marketplace. Through intelligent and progressive business strategies that make the most of Target's resources and partnerships worldwide, Merchandising works across product categories to create a localized shopping experience online and in our 1800 stores. Are you a creative problem solver who loves to see your work translate into real results? Can you collaborate effectively, execute a plan efficiently and positively influence how Target chooses and presents the right product in the right place at the right price? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role in Planning means being in charge of the financials and forecasting for one of Target's businesses. Here, you'll conduct comparative analysis of holiday or other seasonal performance reports and provide the insights that inform the Inventory team's work to ensure that product supports projected sales. Acting as the hub between Merchandising and Supply Chain, you will create a financial link between these two essential groups and have a voice in some of the most important decisions from a financial strategy standpoint.

As a Food & Beverage Sr. Merchandise Planner, you will join a remarkable team that invests in and supports each other. You will be assigned to a business unit, including Buyers, Inventory Analysts, and functional experts that, together with external supplier partners, collaborate effectively to deliver industry leading guest experiences and financial results. Within your team of Planning peers, you will have access to creative and brilliant team members with whom you will connect to compare ideas, methodology, and approach. These relationships will fuel, elevate, and empower your core contribution as you predict possible outcomes of the future for your assigned Merchandising product classes. You will leverage this perspective to influence strategies and plans for future seasons, and for tactical in-season choices as the variables influencing demand fluctuate. This influence includes defining the products that we carry, where we carry them, when we carry them, how we display and promote them, and how deeply we buy into them. As a Sr. Planner, you will grow into an influential expert that provides peer feedback and mentorship to the Planners and Cross-Functional Team Members around you. In addition, you will demonstrate initiative and unlock new value in the business by applying your fact-based analytical planning techniques to problems with scope that is broader than your core business classes.

In a business as large and complex as Target's, your financial and analytical acumen must be complemented by many other skills and qualities. As we grow our business, we look to the future with optimism while balancing it with a healthy skepticism which acknowledges that achieving greatness will require creativity, resourcefulness, and cross-functional commitments to excellence. We value testing and experimentation within our business to accelerate what we learn about our guests and their demand, thus enabling our Merchandising Teams to take objective and calculated risks to differentiate Target within the market as we reinforce our durable business model. Taking these risks inherently means that we don't get it right all the time. We strive to be right more frequently and in bigger ways, while celebrating the moments when we miss with curiosity, supporting each other, and demonstrating resilience.

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience such as Merchandising, Supply Chain, Category Management, Retail Operations, Consulting, or Fields focused on Big Data Analysis; or completed MBA Degree at an accredited university.
