As a Sr. Engineering Manager on the Mobile Apps team, you will lead a team of talented mobile engineers (Android and iOS) to build new and meaningful experiences for our guests using the Target iOS and Android Flagship Apps. The Inspire team focuses on capabilities designed to influence guest behavior via targeted content and experiences, including critical capabilities such as home page, category pages, and marketing content targeting. The key to the success of this position is having a strong & innovative approach to problem-solving, great technical acumen, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and a self-motivated working style. You will put your skills and experience to work in a fast-moving, highly-visible environment.

• Lead the team to drive initiatives from idea formulation, to design, and implementation by following the best practices. e.g. testing, observability, etc.

• Set the technical vision & direction for the team and lead the team to achieve it.

• Drive great partnership with Product, Design, and Analytics teams.

• Participate in essential technical, design, and product discussions with teams across the organization.

• Manage cross-product technical dependencies and drive resolutions to conflicts.

• Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.

• Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching.


• 8+ years of software development experience in an Agile environment.

• 2+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring mobile development teams with a strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects.

• Experience building native iOS and/or Android apps.

• Strong hands-on skills. Can drill deep into the complex system design and implementation when needed.

• Experience in managing customer-facing applications through reliability and resiliency fundamentals.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $118,200 to $212,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
