A role on the Financial Planning and Analysis team means providing insight and guidance to support Target's strategic growth strategies and financial decisions. You'll deliver objective and financially-focused insights to the business owners and finance leaders. You will be a critically important resource for long-term and annual financial planning, analysis and drive cross-company initiatives.

As the Director Marketing Finance, you will work with senior leaders across the company to:

Lead a portion of the Marketing Finance teams. Provide timely and value-added financial analysis and visibility into financial performance for their partner groups. This includes strategic planning, capital investment decisions and reporting for Target's marketing decisions. Utilizes and develops processes and financial models to accurately guide marketing and human capital investment decisions. Facilitates annual planning and monthly forecasting for various marketing expenses. In addition, you will attract, manages and develops talent for the Marketing Finance team, across a variety of pay grades. Ensures active and appropriate on-boarding and provides continuous feedback on performance. You will actively supports annual strategic planning for marketing, to ensure alignment of marketing spend with company priorities. Lead Goal and LRP efforts for portions of Marketing. Ensures accurate monthly forecasting of marketing expenses for the corporate forecast process and influences the decisions marketing is making on spending priorities. Leads the development of budgeting processes for all marketing expense centers. You will keep marketing leaders informed and aligned with company financial performance. Assists marketing partners in identifying, analyzing, and implementing initiatives to optimize marketing spend. You will be responsible for developing strategies and processes to help the Marketing organization efficiently deploy human capital appropriately. Ensures adequate control processes are in place for contractor utilization. Develops a solid understanding of all financial models within the marketing team for ad hoc analysis and implications on marketing investment decisions. Ensures accurate and consistent analysis of capital projects, balancing growth with profitability

About you:
  • B.A/B.S degree or equivalent experience
  • MBA/CPA/MA Preferred
  • +10 years of finance experience, preferably in FP&A
  • Experience in retail finance or accounting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - ability to direct and influence a team, clients, and peers.
  • Ability to work with and influence all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and self-motivation.


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is ($119,500) to ($215,100).
