You will use both creative skill and audience knowledge to concept and execute work that celebrates, resonates and furthermore helps to build and maintain meaningful connections with the Black community.You will articulate Target's brand (voice and culture) to infuse all work with an unmistakable Target approach. You'll also understand cultural trends and think strategically about how to show up for Black guests.Your work will live across channels, including Video, Social, Digital, Display, Direct Mail, and In-Store Experiences. You will collaborate with a broad team of Art Directors, Copywriters, Strategists, Project Managers, and Associate Creative Directors -- bringing Target brand and category campaigns to life, while infusing audience perspective. You will need to demonstrate strong copywriting and conceptual skills as well as help lead in the preparation of pitches and presentations, seeing all work through every phase of production. In addition, you'll be asked to step in to lead and guide work when needed and provide feedback, coaching and guidance when appropriate to enhance others' skill development, including mentorships. You will deliver on business goals and objectives, and advocate for empathy with your passion to understand guest needs. We will support you along the way with onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Senior Copywriter. - 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
- 5+ years creative multicultural marketing experience and/or a mastery of writing
- Portfolio of creative work showcasing exceptional creative and conceptual writing across a wide range of business or brand categories and channels
- Experience developing compelling work for Black audiences.
- Deep knowledge and expertise of best practices across all media types
- Idea-first messaging approach and ability to apply a strategic lens to writing
- Skilled in managing and executing complex projects at many different stages
- Comfortable working within white space and ambiguity
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to provide feedback, coaching and guidance along with leading project work
- Passionate about creating authentic multicultural marketing
