Within Merchandising is Owned Brand Sourcing & Development (OBS&D). This team supports the Owned Brand Sourcing & Development (OBS&D) and Owned Brand Product Development & Packaging (OBPD+P) organizations, multi-national team responsible for the product creation and global sourcing of Target's Owned Brands including Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Home, Hardlines, Essentials/Beauty, and Food/Beverage. The Owned Brand organization includes functional roles such as Brand Management, Design, Engineering, Global Sourcing, Product Development, Packaging, Quality, Responsible Sourcing, and more. The Program Management Office (PMO) is a team within OBS&D focused on developing, recommending and executing holistic solutions with business experts to advance Owned Brand capabilities through the use of project management and organizational change management principles. Due to the evolving nature of retail, the projects and capabilities your team will lead will change over time and be prioritized based the Owned Brand Strategic Plan.

As the Director of Owned Brand Strategy & Operations (PMO) you will:
  • Lead the project intake and prioritization process in alignment with the OB Strategic Plan
  • Track, monitor, and manage resources and capacity management. Ensuring that all projects are resourced with the right personnel based on business outcomes
  • Assist in defining project scope, deliverables/objectives, project timeline, resource needs and success measures by partnering closely with key stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to team throughout the duration of a project, including identifying and mitigating risks that may impact project scope, schedule or budget.
  • Develop project management methodology, best practices, tools and standards that can be used across project portfolio to improve productivity, decision making, and realize targeted business outcomes
  • Closely collaborate with Owned Brands Transformation office, Business Facing Operations, Overseas Strategy & Operations, Data & Technology teams to align on priorities, deployment plans, and change impacts
  • Manage oversight of overall project portfolio health, progress reporting, risks/issues resolution, dependencies mapping and connectivity
  • Lead a talented and diverse team to drive data-driven, problem-solving, and iterative capability building to address Owned Brand needs
  • Build enterprise connectivity and alignment between Owned Brand and Enterprise priorities
  • Balance need to deliver short and long-term projects by collaborating closely with senior leaders to balance resources and drive tradeoff decisions
  • Develop culture of continuous innovation and progress over perfection
  • Offer a global perspective in stakeholder discussions and when shaping solutions/recommendations

About You

  • 8+ years of Consulting, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Product Development, Global Sourcing or Project Management experience
  • PMP Certified, Green Belt Certified, or knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma preferred
  • Proven team leader with history of managing high-performing teams and building exceptional partner/client relationships
  • Respects, appreciates, and values diverse voices and approaches

  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
  • Deep passion for problem solving, continuous learning, and process improvement
