American Sign Language Instructor

The Department of Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth has an opening for a full-time American Sign Language instructor. This is a one-year, renewable, appointment.

Applicants are required to have:

1. Master’s degree with a focus in American Sign Language from an accredited institution.  Note: Degree must be completed by August 22, 2022. A commitment to increasing equity and inclusion within the discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated success in broadening inclusivity and supporting all students within the profession. One year of full-time teaching experience in the pertinent field of study (ASL) at the college level. Ability to teach a range of undergraduate courses in American Sign Language up to 30 credits for the year. Experience using technology in teaching.

About the Job:

The Department of Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth seeks to hire a full-time (100%) 1 year contract position (renewable) with the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor to teach American Sign Language beginning August 22, 2022.

Responsibilities include teaching a range of undergraduate courses in American Sign Language up to 30 credits for the year, advising students, and other teaching-related duties.
