Description:
Visual Merchandising Manager -

About us:

As a Fortune 50 company with more than 350,000 team members worldwide, Target is an iconic brand and one of America's leading retailers.

Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel, and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.

Fueling the continued success of one of the world's most beloved and recognized brands is a distinctly capable, creative, and innovative Marketing organization. Target Marketing is well known for inspiring and surprising guests, and we pride ourselves on connecting them to the products and experiences they expect and deserve from Target. We study our guests to discover new needs and insights, and then craft every interaction to build brand love. We are market experts who insist on a clear and cohesive understanding of our business objectives, guest segments and behaviors, strategies, and tactics, overcoming obstacles and measuring success. Our commitment to partnering both internally and with external agencies gives us a wide range of capabilities, from award-winning creative work to exciting and unique promotional marketing. Leveraging our collective assets and fostering a healthy, supportive, and open team culture, we deliver a holistically gratifying experience that guests can only get at Target.

A role with Target Visual means an opportunity to shape how our guests experience presentations inside our stores. You'll drive the success of both forward-thinking projects, and best practices, that have a global impact on Visual activities. Bring your exceptional skills to design presentations with purpose, that are relevant, inspiring, and connected, to delight the guest and drive growth. Here, you'll balance art and science as you oversee the curation of presentations throughout the store.

As a Visual Merchandising Manager in Apparel and Accessories, you drive visual decisions for secondary business areas as the division roundtable representative for brands and seasons, participating in division strategy and insights. You will design concepts for assigned areas each cycle that demonstrate the presentation strategy. You will partner with Merchants, Planning, and Product Design to execute visual concepts and merchant initiatives for each transition based on the cycle brief. You will collaborate with presentation stakeholders (Space Presentation and Transitions, Store Experience Marketing, Creative, Store Ops) to develop holistic storytelling and enable seamless application. You will ensure visual merchandising guidelines are consistently maintained and published for assigned areas.

You will foster team dynamic through individual investment (technical, transferrable, and expandable skills). You will reinforce priorities and participate in cultural initiatives for personal development. You will set in store and travel as needed to experience presentation execution in store and continually evolve. The exciting part of retail? It's always changing! Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:
  • 3-5 years of Visual and corporate headquarters experience with in-store retail knowledge.
  • Cultural awareness, competitive analysis, and knowledge/understanding of current trends.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and manage relationships with team and key business partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, and Smartsheet.
  • Preferred: 4-year college degree in Visual Merchandising, Art, Design, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
