About this opportunity:

A role in Finance Operations calls on your skills for quality financial and operational reporting and analytics, ensuring accurate financials while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.

As a Payroll Accountant you will be an active partner in accounting for and analyzing payroll for over 350,000 team members. Payroll Accounting will give you visibility into paycheck detail, with a focus on team member pay errors and corrections. You will ensure timely and accurate month-end close responsibilities, including preparation of journal entries, execution of SOX internal controls and analytical review of monthly results. You will get to know the comprehensive end-to-end payroll system flow, from pay run inputs to net pay statements to the general ledger and reconciliations. You will partner with Payroll Operations and Product Owners to review technology modernization efforts that impact the payroll flow. As a global team, you will get to know the broader Payroll team located at Target in India. You will work on special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed. You will develop strong relationships in order to influence partners and provide decision support to teams across the company. You will drive innovation and use analytics to improve processes.

About you:

• Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong Accountant with knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large volumes of data and draw meaningful insights
• Experience in project execution or system testing a plus
• Strong communication, problem solving, organization and analytical skills
• High level of curiosity, initiative and the desire to learn end-to-end processes to drive improvements
• Ability to be resilient and adaptable, working through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced operations environment
• Strong business partner, able to collaborate with teams across the organization
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of initiative
• Payroll knowledge or experience a plus

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $52,200-$94,000.
