A role in Transitions means leading the strategy for introducing relevant newness into our assortments and store experience in a way that further improves the financial and operational viability of our business.

The Transition Lead will be responsible for building and managing the annual Transition Plan across all store space assets (inline, salesplans, etc) for a Merchandising pyramid or for the Enterprise. This position will engage with senior leadership to discuss guest, competitive, financial and operational insights to then build an annual Transition plan that supports meaningful assortment and store experience updates in the most efficient and effective way. The Transition Lead role will also include the opportunity to continue to shape the future of our Transition planning capability across Target.

As a Transition Lead, you will:
  • Analyze and integrate guest, competitive, financial and operational insights into building an annual Transition plan that delivers assortment growth strategies and an industry leading store experience
  • Partner with teams including Merchandise Buying and Planning, Inventory Management, Space & Presentation, Visual Merchandising, Stores, Properties, Marketing
  • Be a catalyst and champion new ways to strategically plan Transition moments while applying contingency plans to meet ever-evolving business needs
  • Operate with an enterprise lens to surface opportunities and resolve trade-off decisions to ensure productive actions are taken on Target's behalf with the guest at the center of our decisions
  • Work across Merchandising, Space & Presentation and other key partner teams to identify and prioritize people, process, or technology investments in service of advancing our Transitions capabilities

About You:
  • 4-year degree
  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Space & Presentation, Merchandise Buying, Merchandise Planning, Merchandise Finance, Inventory Management, Category Management and/or other relevant retail experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a passion for solving complex problems
  • Courageous problem-solver whom is comfortable challenging the status quo, navigating through ambiguity and communicating with senior leadership
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional partners to prioritize and accomplish business objectives
  • Leads with an enterprise mindset and can effective weigh trade-offs across guest, financials and operations

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400 - $153,700.
