St. Catherine University and the Education Department invite applications for a Unit Leader position.

This position oversees all licensure programs offered by St. Catherine University which include Early Childhood, K-6 Elementary Education - conventional and non conventional, and School Library Media Specialist. The individual in this position will ensure that all licensure programs and the unit as a whole are in compliance with Minnesota Rules governing teacher preparation; as well as ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance of program administration as approved by PELSB in collaboration with Program Directors in K-6, Early Childhood, and K-6 Nonconventional, the Statewide Learning Management System Program Coordinator and Placement Coordinator.
  • Serve in the capacity of project manager in the development and submission of the Unit Compliance Report that includes licensure program directors and/or coordinators, faculty, placement coordinator, administrative assistants, etc.
  • Communicate with the PELSB board, including notifying the board of changes to approved programs through the program reporting process and submitting licensure program proposal applications and program effectiveness reports ( RIPA and PERCA ).
  • Serve as Licensing Officer in the recommendation of candidates for licensure and assurances that all licensure requirements have been successfully completed
  • Serve as edTPA/ MTLE Coordinator: attend monthly MN edTPA Coordinator Meetings
  • Serve as Title II Coordinator/Primary Contact
  • Serve as Assessment Coordinator and Lead for Licensure Programs

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Education or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience working in K-12 schools as a teacher of record or administrator
  • Three (3) years of experience working in teacher preparation at the college/university level
  • Experience in project and/or program oversight, design, management, and evaluation including assessment and accreditation activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience aligned with MN Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board activities required of Teacher Prep Institutions (e.g., Unit Approval, RIPA , PERCA )
  • Experience supporting teacher candidates with the edTPA process
  • Holds or has held a teaching license or administrative license at any level
