Work Location: Work from home. Must be within a commutable distance to attend in-person meetings as necessary.

Position Description

This position is responsible to plan, organize, conduct and complete internal audits, including audits of key financial and IT processes and controls; and perform key advisory functions as needed.

• Conduct audits: Plan, organize and conduct audits of key financial and IT processes and internal controls. This includes the annual review of UCare's design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Accountable for researching and contributing to the development of risk-based audit program, timelines, data analytics and fieldwork, and maintaining a high level of quality.

• Analyze results and reporting: Summarize and analyze audit findings, formulate recommendations in a report format, track corrective actions, and communicate findings to management.

• Develop and maintain audit tools appropriate for testing controls, performing risk-based audits and providing advisory services.

• Direct and oversee audit projects and assist staff in the preparation and delivery of the audit reports.

• Ensure adequate organization and retention of documents related to audits.

• Establish positive working relationships with management to provide input on risks and controls and ensure a sustained understanding of internal control requirements while maintaining independence and objectivity.

• Provide support and project management for related audit initiatives as directed by the Associate Director, Compliance & Internal Audit.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Business, or related field is preferred. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of experience in internal audit or similar role.

Preferred Experience

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred, or other auditing certifications. Experience with Model Audit Rule and/or Sarbanes-Oxley. Experience auditing in the health care industry for a health plan or insurance company.
