Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.

We use good data, in-depth analysis and cross-functional insights to identify and communicate best practices, elevating our sourcing and procurement activities to achieve their very highest potential.
A role with Strategic Sourcing means supporting category management plans and leading sourcing and negotiation approaches for indirect spend categories. You'll share and promote the best tactics across the entire company while developing category knowledge and close client relationships. This role acts as a credible expert; consistently delivering on sourcing techniques through the execution of sourcing projects with best practices. You will lead cross-functional work teams and provide sourcing and negotiation guidance in primary category and/or alternate programs as needed. You'll execute event strategies and buying programs for indirect spend categories in addition to reviewing and guiding the team in financial analysis methods, such as clean sheet and award scenarios.
In this role, you will communicate and present to internal and external stakeholders, are able to speak the language of the business and drive and manage change across the organization with speed and agility. You'll operate collaboratively with leadership in application of the strategic sourcing practice, quickly connecting its vision and strategy to project execution that aligns with stakeholder expectations. In leveraging partnerships with subject matter experts, you'll support teams to develop innovative sourcing strategies, optimize outcomes and generate results based scenarios that are focused on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) decision making criteria (quality, service and cost impact). You will actively execute on project pipeline in fulfillment of client category goals and maintain relationships in support of that mission. You'll balance sourcing project management, business development and collaborative project leadership to deliver results. To ensure desired outcomes while communicating progress in a timely and fact-based manner, you'll manage and report on progress against sourcing project goals.
You will lead (both internally and externally) contracting efforts while partnering with the appropriate legal teams. You'll actively participate in contract drafting, contract analysis/review and will summarize or interpret relevant business impact. Demonstrating knowledge of supply/demand dynamics and industry cost structures and mechanisms is critical in this role. You will leverage your knowledge of technology costing and delivery models to apply them throughout the project, product or contract lifecycle.
