Job Summary
The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office offers law students a unique opportunity to work directly with Assistant Attorney Generals and gain hands‑on experience reviewing documents, researching legal issues, drafting written product, and appearing in court. This position allows law students to develop professional skills and expand their knowledge while performing meaningful and challenging work on a wide variety of issues. We require our law clerks to assume a significant amount of responsibility over their files and put forth the very best work on behalf of the public.
This posting is for the fall session, 10-weeks. It is a paid position and Law Clerks receive a salary of $20/hour.
Minimum Qualifications
The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office is committed to building the best public law office in the nation. In order to reach that goal, we seek law students from diverse backgrounds, with a variety of experiences and skills, and a sincere interest in serving the public.
All resumes submitted should clearly show the following qualifications:
- Current student in good standing with an accredited law school
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent wring, analytical, and communication skills (a writing sample of up to 5 pages is required to be included with a cover letter within the application submission)
- Ability to: Adapt in an inclusive, creative, and collaborative work environment Show excellent judgement, character, and work ethic
