Position Summary:

As a Sr. Standards Engineer on the PSQA (Product Safety and Quality Assurance team), means an opportunity to drive end-to-end quality project to move from quality management to quality oversight. Putting the guest at the center to prioritize their needs and formalized feedback loop regarding quality with clear ownership and communication.

Responsibilities:
  • Help product teams create quality, safe and truly unique products by understating guest usage, competitive landscape, product design and manufacturing.
  • Research new and emerging product categories/products to create Quality performance requirements for OB products.
  • Support new Brand launches and brand reinventing, by creating and auditing Standards and quality processes in partnership with the cross functional team.
  • Ongoing support to OB cross functional teams to maintain quality foundation and execution.
  • Assess, mitigate and manage quality risk within Owned Brand categories.
  • Develop consistent approaches/frameworks, standards and governance in innovation, benchmarking and research.
  • Collaborate with the PSQA and Product Operations teams to drive guest research, development, value engineering and innovative product solutions.
  • Project agility to support the changing guest and business needs.
  • Lead development of process and tools to support product testing, and quality analysis to build products that foster love and loyalty.
  • Communicate daily with internal and external partners to ensure clear understanding of Target requirements.
  • Hind sighting on quality execution, guest feedback, and partner connections to inform continuous improvement and new capability needs (Product Operations, COE, PSQA, Global TD's, BPTD's, etc.).
  • Travel internationally and domestically to support business as needed.
  • Manage, maintain and update quality related documents as needed.


About you:
  • 8+ years' experience in product and development.
  • Experience in multiple phases of the product life cycle. From R&D through production and guest use.
  • Current in industry standard technical knowledge of development and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in use of relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, PLM system, etc.).
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, often changing, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This position may be eligible to be virtual based (also known as full-time remote) or could be 'Flex for your Day', a hybrid model where the team member has some flexibility to choose how and where they work to maximize their productivity and well-being, based on Target's needs. Most of Target's HQ team members work 'Flex for Your Day' with a blend of virtual work and onsite at a Target HQ location. Team members work with their leader to determine how the role, team, partners and business determines the flexibility. For team members who work virtual based, they enter into a work arrangement that means the team member works full-time from home or a non-Target location, and do not have a workstation at their assigned HQ location, but may travel to a HQ site up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400 to $153,700.
