MH & SUDS OPERATIONS BUSINESS ANALYST

Work Location: Work from home

Position Description

This position is responsible to discover, analyze and document business requirements and lead projects to support daily operations and initiatives of the Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS). Plan, document requirements, design business processes, and execute testing plans to ensure MH & SUDS objectives are met. Provide recommendations to align business systems and activities with clinical strategies and objectives. Support tracking, reporting, analyzing and summarizing operations data. Support the maintenance and testing of system changes, which includes workflow, validation, and automated processes. In addition, you will be responsible for running and reconciling reports. You will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of reported data, as well as communication and resolution of identified issues involving reports and data trends.

• Monitor call flow of phone lines for the department, report and resolve operational and performance concerns. Analyze real time and historical data to monitor trends and identify opportunities for improved performance, quality and efficiency for the department's phone lines.

• Plan, execute and complete operational projects. Regularly communicate status throughout the project lifecycle. Identify and address challenges to project sponsor and stakeholders. Complete root cause analysis of issues to help recommend solution options, consult with project sponsor about solutions, and implement identified solution(s).

• Provide Smartcomm application support in the creation, editing, publishing and release of materials used within the clinical documentation system. Ensure accurate and timely material exchange between pre-production and production environment through collaboration with clinical documentation system vendor.

• Build, develop and report on operational dashboards to support targeted studies of MH & SUDS programs, which will communicate data, trends, and analytics for a variety of stakeholder to ensure understanding and context of information.

• Compile and complete daily, weekly, and monthly analysis. Report summaries of dashboards to demonstrate trends and analysis for a variety of stakeholders. Manage the portfolio of operational reports, collaborating with leaders and users to evaluate current reporting needs and adjust accordingly.

• Collaborate with Health Services Data Analytics team and Health Care Economics Department to extract relevant data required for report creation and effective analysis of operational metrics.

• Maintain and execute basic and complex data gathering from Guiding Care, Tableau, Enrollment Rosters, and other reports to be used for all department dashboards.

• Analyze business processes, identify root cause, and provide insights and recommendations for process improvements. Create job aids for daily operational use based on recommended process improvements.

• Participate in system testing and validation for various operation systems.

• Lead small to medium sized projects by creating project plans, tracking and reporting initiatives, while coordinating timely outputs. Collaborate with stakeholders to document, schedule and identify project timelines, milestones, resource allocation and problem-solving strategies.

• Partner with the MH & SUDS leaders in the annual authorization grid development, system upgrades, regulatory needs and annual readiness.

• Support the department with onboarding of new staff and provide system navigation and classroom training.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Three years of reporting and/or analytics experience. Three years of experience working in a health plan or health care industry. Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements. Use and understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding, PC, and keyboard skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability to develop reports and dashboards from various data sources for multiple audiences.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with state and federally funded program in an HMO or MCO utilization management environment highly desirable. Project management, process improvement, and/or training experience. Experience with GuidingCare.
