As a Sr. Manager Global Trade, your primary function is to support Target's global supply chain transformation by anticipating future business needs and regulatory changes impacting Target while maintaining operations and leading a team of highly technical experts. A critical aspect of this role is identifying opportunities for improvement and developing & executing strategies to improve efficiencies and level of service while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies. Provide thought leadership and experience to influence peers and leaders, driving toward action and leading key partners toward the right business decisions. You will manage a team of Lead Customs Commodity Specialists; providing oversight on tariff classification and import trade activities as well as driving engagement and managing relationships with internal partners to keep them informed on Global Trade perspectives and impact related to global supply chain and enterprise-wide initiatives. Drive communication with Sr. Leadership, identify roadblocks, and communicate proactively to key stakeholders alerting them of potential impacts to the business. You will support your team, drive partner accountability by analyzing data and trends, and seek opportunities for training and continued education. You'll have responsibility to identify opportunities to move the business forward and be a change agent leader. Additionally, you will get to recommend appropriate responses to regulatory agencies, external vendors and internal partner inquiries. You will stay current with the ever-changing and complex regulatory environment of tariff classification, trade programs, partner government agencies, and compliance by continually developing industry knowledge of new policies and how they relate to current or potential Target's overall sourcing strategy. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

This position will report to the Director - Global Trade Operations.

About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' trade compliance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead a team
  • Proven track record of thinking in terms of the future state, challenging the status quo, identifying paths from current to future state, and leading others through change
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and working autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for the technicalities of import trade compliance and operations
  • Understanding of U.S. Customs Regulations and the Harmonized Tariff Code
  • U.S. Customs Brokers License
