Job Details
An Eligibility Specialist performs a variety of tasks related to the determination of eligibility for Public Assistance programs (Cash Programs, Emergency Programs, Food Support, and Health Care Programs). Duties include review of cases to assess fit with program rules and ensuring complete and accurate case documentation. The work environment is fast-paced with changing priorities. One must be organized and detail-oriented with a keen interest in helping others. Some evening hours may be required.
MQs: Requires high school diploma/GED and four years of related work experience** OR high school diploma/GED plus one or more years post-secondary education and two years of related work experience** OR an Associate's degree or higher. **Related work experience MUST BE in a position involving health and human services, program eligibility, or working to determine and provide public assistance benefits to a broad range of clientele. The incumbent shall possess a valid driver's license and provide a reliable means of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities. Recent MAXIS system or Financial Worker/Eligibility Specialist experience strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
Hiring Range: $24.21 to $30.26 per hour – DOQ.
