The Career Development Center at St. Catherine University invites applications for an Information Specialist II.

The Information Specialist II
provides technical support and training to students and Career Development staff. This position also functions as the interface between Career Development and the IT department. The Information Specialist maintains multiple specialized databases, manages career technology resources, and collaborates with technology vendors to determine appropriate technology solutions. In this role you will be a team lead within the Career Development team, aiding with general office management projects, including supervision of student staff, front desk management, budget management, and help with special projects as requested. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and support technology and information systems such as Handshake, Career Tools, Interview Stream and Talent Neuron.
  • Proactively support career development goals, processes and data for both students and staff
  • Oversee Career Development's use of Qualtrix, GoogleDocs, Banner, Luminous and Argos.
  • Maintain and improve Career Development web pages on a regular ongoing basis.
  • Oversee supervision and training of 8 +/- student employees.
  • Assist staff with promotions and marketing of software platform.
  • Collaborate with other departments and diverse constituency (including students, faculty, staff, and external recruiters)
  • Ensure that front desk is staffed by trained personnel.
  • Develop training materials for students & staff.
  • Account for budget expenditures.
  • Manage career resource library
  • Manage permissions for all staff and student workers for departmental shared drives, Google calendars, phones, email addresses, Handshake and other career platforms.
  • Perform periodic audits of department data.
  • Coordinate SSO and data uploads with IT, Registrar's Office and HR for Handshake and other career platforms.
  • Perform data collection, analytics and data reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of Information Management/ Information Systems/ Database management experience (including part-time or student positions)
  • Strong technical problem solving skills
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues for users, escalating issues to IT and venders as needed
  • Experience learning and applying new technologies
  • Attention to detail; Strong organizational project management skills
  • People management and leadership experience; ability to build a positive work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly reliable and responsible to needs of the department
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot problems in a professional manner
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Google Suites, and ability to quickly learn and manage proprietary databases
  • Ability to work with diverse constituency (including students, faculty, staff, and external partners) in instructional and consultative roles

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management and systems implementation experience
  • Experience with data collection, analytics and data reporting/presentation
  • Experience and familiarity with Handshake, PeopleGrove, Uconnect, Qualtrics
