POSITION: The High School Page Program Chaperone will assist in providing a safe and secure environment during non-business hours for student participants lodging near the State Capitol.  The position will begin in January and continue through May. Chaperones will be initial point of contact for student concerns during non-program hours and must be able to calmly handle potential crises and relay necessary information to students, staff and guardians. Chaperones will remain on-site at the hotel during their shifts and must be available to participants, guardians, hotel staff and program staff during their shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must be responsible, responsive and reliable
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment
  • Strong situational awareness and observation skills
  • Ability to work irregular hours
  • Must pass background check

TERMS & HOURS:

The position is temporary and full-time for the 2023 legislative session (January 16 – May 19).  Chaperones will be assigned to one of two shifts between 4:00 PM- 12:30 AM, Sunday-Thursday (2:30 pm start on Sunday) and 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM, Monday-Friday.  Position sharing/part-time will be considered.   Daytime training hours will be required in early January.

PAY: $18.17 hourly, 35-40 hours per week.
