A role in the External Financial Reporting calls on your skills for quality financial reporting and accurate financials and technical accounting while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise and guidance to business partners. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target's business initiatives and core retail operations.
As an External Financial Reporting Accountant you will assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, as well as assist in the preparation of earnings release financial information. You will also perform timely benchmarking with peers and other companies on financial statement disclosures and recommend changes as necessary. You will assist in assessing financial and accounting issues related to new and existing accounting guidance and business strategies and initiate process improvement efforts and external reporting system enhancements. Other duties include certain monthly or quarterly accounting duties and coordinating and participating in special projects as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2-4 years work experience in accounting (public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience preferred)
- CPA or similar designation
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and SEC disclosure standards
- Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and possess proven project management skills
- Strong digital acumen
This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $52,200 to $94,000.
