Strategic Vision Team Overview:

A team within our Product Development organization leading strategic vision and driving bold strategies through an agile model working with teams and businesses across categories and enterprise. This is a team where we seek diverse skill-sets and experiences to create compelling & unique strategies building a clear business and product vision connecting to enterprise strategic initiatives and discovering growth potential.

Position Overview:

As a Sr. Designer focused on Strategic Vision you will be a part of a team of highly collaborative & creative strategic thinkers who bring to life a unique vision across a multitude of areas, such as team capabilities, strategic initiatives, process & roadmaps, and synthesizing data & research through clear, compelling storytelling methods. This will be accomplished by problem solving with partners, building unique frameworks, driving deep research to provoke innovation & potential- especially in support of growth and differentiation. Your collaboration with partners & leaders across the enterprise will result in identifying opportunities & bringing the ideas & strategy to life.

You will be accountable to lead strategic vision & storytelling, build strong partnerships and inspire others to find greatest potential in our businesses and teams. This will be accomplished through:

  • Synthesizing complex information into a clear vision, concept and/or story though multiple sources of input (trend forecasting, insight collection, data analysis) and framing opportunities in a way that is inspirational to teams and tangible to businesses.
  • Leading project workstreams on strategy and consulting engagements that identify opportunities and seek potential for growth for business advancement
  • Ability to drive deep industry research across categories; able to forecast category, brand, business or guest segment trends to advance long-term strategic efforts.
  • Willingness to experiment with new approaches, build innovative frameworks and challenge ways of working to advance strategic goals & vision

  • Build strong relationships to collaborate with partners across the enterprise while influencing through your expertise in strategic storytelling and vision
  • Ability to coordinate collaboration with partners across product categories, brands, enterprise strategy and merchandising to maximize strategic impact of work
  • Ability to drive conversations with leadership to advance strategic vision
  • Champions best ways to work using own experience and knowledge bringing a unique perspective to motivate and influence team and partners

About you:
  • Four-year degree in Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or similar area and minimum 8+ years of experience
  • Exceptional elevated aesthetic voice and creative direction abilities through graphic layout, content organization and clear visual storytelling
  • Strong abilities in brand building acumen and fluency with connection to broader strategic initiatives
  • Exceptional at developing partnerships and working in a team environment
  • Strong leadership skills with key strength in problem solving & innovation and comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended opportunities
  • Exceptional communicator with ability to advance vision via visual, written and verbal skillsets
  • Experienced influencing at all levels to deliver clear strategy & vision
  • Strong Design capability with ability to take on Product Design projects at times
  • Business acumen, market knowledge, ability to research and translate market/trend/data information into clear vision
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions
  • Knowledge of product development processes

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,400 to $153,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family. This position may be eligible to be virtual based (also known as full-time remote) or could be 'Flex for your Day', a hybrid model where the team member has some flexibility to choose how and where they work to maximize their productivity and well-being, based on Target's needs. Most of Target's HQ team members work 'Flex for Your Day' with a blend of virtual work and onsite at a Target HQ location. Team members work with their leader to determine how the role, team, partners and business determines the flexibility. For team members who work virtual based, they enter into a work arrangement that means the team member works full-time from home or a non-Target location, and do not have a workstation at their assigned HQ location, but may travel to a HQ site up to 4 times a year.
