About the job:

A role with the Corporate Responsibility team is a chance to help develop Target's in-house, sustainability data capability that will leverage Target's many data assets. We see data as a product and an opportunity to experiment and refine our approach to tackling critical measurement and reporting challenges, bringing our guests sustainable and inclusive products, and enabling our team members to make more sustainable choices. You will help strengthen our enterprise sustainability data and ensure that it is accurate, transparent, and accessible for business decisions, guest strategy development, and rigorous internal and external-facing reporting. You will toggle between maintaining and enhancing our foundational data and analytics, and assisting enterprise data wrangling for our new Target Forward ambitions and goal portfolio. You will assist in ESG measurement and metric development critical to external and regulatory reporting, as well as curating visuals and analytics for internal decision making.

As a Sr. Data Analyst with the Corporate Responsibility team, you will...

  • Develop a thorough understanding of CR/ESG processes, products and a data-driven culture
  • Document calculations and code, adhering to data management principles
  • Adhere to routines around prioritization and best practices, with the ability to negotiate for the best outputs and benefits to Target, our guests, and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Help define data to be collected for measuring the success of new product features, define KPIs, and work with engineering on tracking and instrumentation of data
  • Synthesize analysis and results in compelling storylines and communicate to key stakeholders
  • Validate and test data assets of others in the form of peer review
  • Design and build of self-service dashboards using a mixture of analytical and visualization techniques to derive actionable insight from data to influence business and product decisions
  • Democratize data and insights as you strive to deliver self-service tools to your partners and enable them to make better decisions more quickly

The Sr. Data Analyst will report directly to the Director, Product Management. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • 3+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, or data management or a bachelor's degree (preferably in a quantitative field) and 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with SQL - working directly in a data warehouse (cleaning and preparing data, querying data, and conducting exploratory analysis)
  • Experience in analytical tools such as: Excel, Python, R, Hadoop/Hive, or equivalent technologies
  • Experience using reporting, visualizations, and analytical tools (e.g. Domo, Tableau, Power BI) to build insights, communicate findings, and deliver actionable business solutions to stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; curious, high energy with strong work ethic
  • Ability to identify and succinctly summarize roadblocks, constraints, and trade-offs, propose potential solutions, and drive toward resolution
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $65,600-$118,100.
