A role in the Environmental Compliance Industrial Hygiene team means working in an area that will support efforts to identify, evaluate, and control chemical, physical and biological hazards to keep Target team members and guests safe at Target Stores, Supply Chain, and Headquarters facilities. You'll bring your high level of detail and organization, extreme curiosity and problem solving, ability to gather information from various sources, and a passion for the work to the team. You'll help Target succeed in current and new operations strategies, including supporting our expanding global supply chain and new stores.

As a Senior Environmental Program Owner you will:
  • Work with the industrial hygiene team to develop and enhance enterprise-wide industrial hygiene programs for chemical, physical and biological hazards and monitor program effectiveness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on chemical, physical and biological hazards.
  • Escalates to business partners and manages industrial hygiene emergency issues.
  • Maintains a deep knowledge of industrial hygiene standards by reviewing regulations, trainings and industry group's connections/awareness.
  • Develops training content to communicate requirements and expectations on key industrial hygiene programs.
  • Supports the prioritization of industrial hygiene needs and assists in determining resources.
  • Manage vendors performing industrial hygiene projects at Target facilities.
  • Monitor, categorize, and respond as needed to the team's generic email inbox and provide direct support to field team members.
  • Leads or participates in cross functional teams in the development and execution of short and long term industrial hygiene compliance solutions.
  • Develop reporting tools using data to monitor the various compliance processes.
  • Manage regulatory inspections and routinely interact with government agencies.
  • Contributes to the development of sustainable best practices for industrial hygiene program management

About You:
  • Bachelor degree in industrial hygiene, safety, engineering, chemistry, environmental sciences or related field or relevant work experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in industrial hygiene.
  • Preferred candidate has experience in hearing conservation program management, noise testing, mold investigation and remediation, indoor air quality, wildfire particulate, ventilation, respiratory protection, risk assessment, infectious diseases, visible and ultraviolet light testing and other area of industrial hygiene.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous problem definitions, recognize dependencies and deliver impact solutions through logical problem solving and technical ideations.
  • Strong analytical, innovative, and conceptual approach to solving problems.
  • Experience with data exploration using Excel or similar tools.
  • Able to support conclusions with analytical evidence using descriptive stats, inferential stats, and data visualizations.
  • Strong technical report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of industrial hygiene regulations.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, manage conflict and act with urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/similar applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, Maximo).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some travel required on a project by project basis.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
